Certifications
Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) is the world’s leading golf educational organization designed to study how the human body functions throughout the golf swing. Through advanced technology and analytics, TPI has discovered how to properly assess how a fully functioning body allows a golfer to swing in the most efficient and effective way possible. TPI has analyzed how potential biomechanical limitations can negatively impact a player’s swing and can be a precursor to injury. This certification allows healthcare practitioners to properly examine golf-specific injuries by addressing the root cause of pain and provide golf-specific rehabilitation.
Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) is a tool used in order to properly assess how the body moves as whole. Here at Premier Sports Chiropractic and Recovery we believe that in order to perform and live pain free, we must move well. If we have restrictions in our joints, it may be difficult to move as freely as we would like. As Gray Cook the founder of SFMA says, “first we must move well, then move often.”
This is why we take all of our patients through a full body movement screen that was developed by the SFMA during each initial visit. We thoroughly examine and analyze how well the patient can move in order to help us make an accurate and definitive diagnosis. Subsequently, this is why we combine chiropractic with corrective movement exercises. We believe that some of your pain may be coming from potential biomechanical imbalances which can put your body in positions that can leave you vulnerable to injury.
Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) is a system of mobility training that is based on the latest scientific principles and research. FRC has developed a program that evaluates joint health and mobility throughout the body. The 3 main goals of the FRC system are to acquire mobility development, joint strength, and body control so that we may move safely and effectively. The FRC system refers to mobility as “the amount of usable motion that one possesses across a particular joint.” By evaluating and improving mobility, we can work towards maximizing the amount of movement one can have and ultimately live a better quality of life.
